DuVall to be inducted into the Circle of Legends

Baltimore Touchdown Club President Doug DuVall, a winner of five state football championships during his legendary career at Wilde Lake High School, will be inducted into the DC Touchdown Club’s Circle of Legends. In his 36 year head coaching career, all at Wilde Lake, DuVall won 308 games, 20 Howard County championships and the five state crowns. Since his retirement in 2008, the 70 year old DuVall has remained an enthusiastic advocate for the game of high school football, working tireless in his roles with the Baltimore Touchdown Club and Maryland State Football Coaches Association. He has also become a fixture on the television broadcasts of the Maryland state championship games and the Big 33 Classic, as an analyst. “Throughout your coaching career, you made quite an impact on so many young men, molding them into fine teams on the field and excellent men off the field,” said DC Touchdown Club President Steve Beck while informing DuVall of the honor. “Your coaching record speaks for itself.” The honor will be bestowed on April 13, 2017 during the 3M Awards Dinner at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda. The same evening, the DCTC will also honor former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly with the association’s Founder’s Award. “President DuVall has been an unbelievable mentor to so many of us young coaches in the Baltimore Touchdown Club,” said BTC Senior Vice President Scott Ripley. “Doug is from the old school of coaching pedigree, but he completely understands and is aware of the changes that are occurring in modern day high school football. He is the sounding board for so many coaches involved in this great sport. Doug has a special skill of building one-on-one relationships. After meeting Doug for the first time, you walk away saying what an incredible person who always puts others first.”
